about dan matha

Daniel "Dan" Louis Matha (June 8, 1988) is a podcast host for SPARK IN THE DARK, former sports entertainer with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and a current free agent.

Dan Matha, born in June 1988, was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. Matha started his athletic career at the age of 12 with the WalnutCreek Wildcats, where he excelled at an early age in football. By age 14, he was scouted by top D1(Divison 1) college programs nationwide. Matha graduated from Erie McDowell High School where he lettered in wrestling and played varsity football, as both an offensive and defensive tackle. Matha's final two seasons were his most inspiring. Matha's team was named 1st Team Associated Press: Pennsylvania Class AAAA 1st Team All-State and earning himself a spot in ESPN's Top 15 Blue Chipper list as an offensive lineman.

Matha then decided to take his talents to the University of Pittsburgh, where he spent the next three years before transferring to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). At IUP, his leadership skills shined through when named team captain of the 14-2 IUP Hawks, started for 22 games, named Daktronics D2 All American, and qualified as a finalist for the Gene Upshaw award—all while being just one game away from the national championship in 2012. Dan Matha's time at IUP garnered much attention from the NFL. Earning Matha had a stint with the NFL Cincinnati Bengals and the CFL Montreal Alouettes.

Dan Matha built a world-class physique over his lifetime that is gracefully powerful, but aesthetically pleasing as well. His enthusiasm for training his mind, body, and (eventually) his spirit started as far back as he could remember. At the age of 12, coming from a low socio-economic family, he didn't have the monetary means to afford weights or a trainer. But that didn't stop Dan Matha from taking action! From scavenging a weight set out of the trash and carrying it six blocks home to earning a spot on Erie McDowell's JV football team, Dan Matha was (and still is) "looking to make something happen."

Through athletics, Dan learned under some of the most brilliant minds in the strength and conditioning world. And his curiosity to learn all the ways to make himself bigger, stronger, and faster has caused a rippling effect in his life that continues to feed his addiction to self progression.

In 2015, Matha found himself checking off another one of his "Life To-Do" Lists by becoming a professional wrestler under the ring name Dorian Mak with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). And in 2018, Matha did it again, achieving status as a certified skydiver. In 2020, Dan Matha is the producer and host of "Spark in the Dark," a podcast for "Those Who Are A Little Bit More Into Life" ENJOY!
